Northern Dance Theatre (NDT) recognizes the prevalence of social media in today’s society and its potential impact on our dance community. This policy provides guidelines for students, parents, staff, and volunteers regarding social media use in relation to NDT.
- Official NDT Social Media Accounts
• NDT maintains official accounts on [list platforms, e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter].
• Only authorized personnel may post on behalf of NDT on these accounts.
• Official accounts will be used to share news, events, achievements, and other studio-related information. - Personal Social Media Use
• Students, parents, and staff are encouraged to follow and engage with NDT’s official accounts.
• When posting about NDT on personal accounts:- Ensure content is appropriate and respectful.
- Do not share confidential information about the studio, students, or staff.
- Clearly state that views expressed are personal and not those of NDT.
- Photo and Video Sharing
• Do not post photos or videos of NDT classes, rehearsals, or performances without permission.
• Respect the privacy of other students and staff; obtain consent before posting images that feature others.
• Tag NDT in posts only when the content directly relates to studio activities. - Respecting Copyrights
• Do not share music, choreography, or other copyrighted material from NDT classes or performances without permission. - Behavior Standards
• All online interactions related to NDT should be respectful and positive.
• Cyberbullying, negative comments about NDT or its members, or inappropriate content will not be tolerated. - Communication with Staff
• Staff members are not permitted to connect with students under 18 on personal social media accounts.
• All communication between staff and students/parents should occur through official channels (studio email, phone, or official social media accounts). - Conflicts and Complaints
• Social media should not be used to air grievances about NDT, its staff, or other students.
• Please refer to our Conflict Resolution Policy for appropriate ways to address concerns. - Consequences
• Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to warnings, suspension from classes, or dismissal from the studio. - Monitoring
• NDT reserves the right to monitor public social media content related to the studio.
• Inappropriate content may be requested to be removed. - Positive Engagement
• We encourage sharing positive experiences, achievements, and support for fellow dancers on social media.
• Use designated hashtags for studio events to build community engagement. - Disclaimer
• NDT is not responsible for content posted by students, parents, or staff on personal social media accounts. - Changes to This Policy
• This policy may be updated as social media landscapes evolve. Any changes will be communicated to the NDT community.
