Tuition and Payment Policy

Northern Dance Theatre (NDT) strives to provide high-quality dance education at reasonable rates. This policy outlines our tuition structure, payment procedures, and related financial matters.

  1. Tuition Rates
Our tuition is structured based on the number of classes per week:
    • 1 class per week: $380.00 annually or $200.00 per session
    • 2 classes per week: $680.00 annually or $350.00 per session
    • 3 classes per week: $930.00 annually or $480.00 per session
    • 4 classes per week: $1130.00 annually or $680.00 per session
  2. Payment Options
We offer two convenient payment options:
    a) Annual Tuition: Pay for the entire year upfront and enjoy the benefit of a waived office fee. This option is ideal for families who are committed to a full year of dance training.
    b) Session-Based Tuition: Pay at the beginning of each session (Fall and Spring). This option offers flexibility for families who may need to adjust their schedules throughout the year.
  3. Payment Methods
We accept the following forms of payment:
    • Checks: Make checks payable to NDT. Please include the student’s name and class on the memo line.
    • Cash: Place cash in a labeled envelope with the student’s name, cash amount, and date.
    • Online Payment: Payments can be conveniently made through our website.
  4. Due Dates
    • Annual Tuition: Due at the time of registration or by September 1st.
    • Session-Based Tuition: Due at the beginning of each session (typically September 1st for Fall and January 1st for Spring).
  5. Late Payments
    • A late fee of $15 will be applied to accounts not paid within 10 days of the due date.
  6. Registration Fee
    • An annual, non-refundable registration fee of $25 per student or $40 per family is due at the time of enrollment.
    • This fee is waived for families choosing the Annual Tuition option.
  7. Costume Fees
    • Costume fees for performances are separate from tuition.
    • Costume payments are typically due in November for the spring recital.
    • Specific costume costs will be communicated in advance.
  8. Refunds and Credits
    • Tuition is non-refundable except in cases of serious illness or injury (with doctor’s note) or family relocation.
    • Credits for future classes may be issued at the discretion of studio management.
  9. Withdrawal Policy
    • A 30-day written notice is required to discontinue any class.
    • Tuition will be charged for the 30 days following written notice of withdrawal.
  10. Delinquent Accounts
    • Accounts more than 60 days past due may result in the student being unable to participate in classes until the account is brought current.
    • Seriously delinquent accounts may be turned over to a collection agency.
  11. Financial Assistance
    • Limited scholarships and financial aid may be available based on need and merit.
    • Please contact the studio office for information on how to apply.
  12. Returned Checks
    • A $25 fee will be charged for any returned checks.
  13. Class Cancellations
    • No refunds are given for classes canceled due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.
    • We will attempt to schedule make-up classes when possible.
